DETROIT WEDDING
This is the wedding of our good friends Patrick and Erin, who were both raised in suburban Michigan and now live in Detroit. They are passionate Tigers’ fans, know their way around all the cool places in the D, and always show us a great time when we visit. Erin and my husband Chris have been friends ever since they lived down the hall from one another during their freshman year of college. So, when the opportunity came to make a ring pillow for them — I was delighted.
Patrick and Erin’s ceremony and reception were held at the Belle Isle Casino which has a history that dates back to the 1700’s. FUN FACT: Belle Isle is he largest Island park in the United States! It’s right on the Detroit River but it’s accessible by car, of course (Motor City!). Their wedding aesthetic was reminiscent of the dapper days of old Detroit: they used the park’s vintage postcards as save-the-dates, and an ornate scroll pattern on their stationary.
Colors were chocolate, red, cream, champagne and touches of gold. Flowers were red roses and the bridesmaids wore black dresses.
