DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
I am thrilled to post this “Day of the Dead” ring pillow! It is a summer wedding happening in June in Fairbanks, Alaska…A Mexican folk art, Dia De Los Muertos, traditional and modern with a vintage touch — How cool is that?
Chantial and Eric are from the beautiful state of Michigan. She is of Mexican descent and Eric is American. They are a couple excited to tie the knot and doing a lot for their wedding themselves. They made their stationary and Chantial is screen-printing the linen napkins for the reception!
Inspirations

The lovely b&w photo is of Chantial’s handsome grandparents Lilly and Florian whose look she hopes to mimic on her big day. The color palette is brown and red and red roses with bear grass flowers. The bridesmaides will be wearing brown and 40’s style hair and makeup (pin-up inspired). Some decorations are: Mexican paper picadillos, “Day Of The Dead” bride and groom cake-topper and loteria cards for table numbers. Vosges ancho chile chocolate bars (which she sent me some and they are delicious!) and little boxes of Mexican wedding cake are giveaways.
Oh, I forget to mention skull and crossbones high-heels!

Sketch idea. The bride has a flower on her hair and her veil is embellished with gold thread, glass beads and little white pearls. Her face is ivory for contrast next to white veil. The ground is chocolate brown linen.

I totally want to crash their wedding!
